Natural Family Planning Awareness Week
July 20–26, 2025
Natural Family Planning Awareness Week is a national educational campaign coordinated by the Natural Family Planning Program of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Each year, the USCCB develops a theme, poster and supportive materials to promote the beauty of Natural Family Planning (NFP). Individual dioceses, including the Diocese of Erie, offer opportunities to share these teachings with the faithful through local education and engagement.
This year’s theme is:
“Pursue a lasting love … Marriage. Create hope for the future! Natural Family Planning, Supporting God’s gifts of love and life in marriage.”
We invite everyone across the diocese to participate…whether by attending Mass, praying for couples and families or learning more about church teachings on NFP. The dates for this national observance highlight the anniversary of Humanae Vitae (July 25), which affirms Catholic beliefs about human sexuality, conjugal love and responsible parenthood. The week concludes on July 26, the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, patrons of grandparents, and a day now designated by Pope Francis as World Grandparents Day.
To explore NFP or register for a class, visit www.eriercd.org/chastity.htm or contact the diocesan NFP coordinator at 814-512-0818.
