The Office of the Bishop
Vicar General
The Vicar General assists the Bishop in the government of the entire diocese and enjoys ordinary power by the Code of Canon Law, cc.475-481. In addition to direct assistance to the Bishop, the Office of Vicar General oversees the following: the regional Vicars, the Permanent Diaconate Program, the Vicar for Religious, the Office of Matrimonial Concerns, the vicariate ecumenical officers, the Bishop Michael J. Murphy Residence for Retired Priests and the Special Apostolates.

Chancery
The Chancery acts as immediate staff to the bishop and serves as one of the principal collaborators in the administration of the diocese.
