A Family Perspective

Please run this in your 1/21/2018 bulletin.

It must have been difficult for Zebedee to watch his sons walk away and follow Jesus as it seemed he had his own plans for his children. We often forget that our children were never ours to begin with. They are only on loan to us. We raise them to let them go.

MARRIAGE MOMENTS

Please run this in your 1/21/2018 bulletin.

765. Ways to Turn Your Beloved Off #8 - Let Your Kids Pre-empt your Beloved. Our children are important and take a lot of care - But, sometimes, we unnecessarily put our kids before our spouse. Babysitters can be a gift from God. If you aren't a parent, substitute "work" for "kids."

A Family Perspective

Please run this in your 1/28/2018 bulletin.

Today’s gospel reminds us “unclean spirits” still haunt our families. These “spirits” thrive inside our grudges, punishing silence, impatience and abruptness. Today Jesus offers you the “authority” to cast out these spirits from your life and your family. Be forgiving. Be reconciling. Be the light you wish to see in the darkness.

MARRIAGE MOMENTS

Please run this in your 1/28/2018 bulletin.

266. Ways to Turn Your Beloved Off #9 - Let obsessions distract you from being present to your beloved. How clean does the house really need to be? Hobbies are fun but can steal together time. Perfectionism can rob you of laughing together at your mistakes.

MARRIAGE MOMENTS

Please run this in your 2/4/2018 bulletin.

767. "They brought to [Jesus] all who were ill...and He cured many who were sick." (Mark 1:32-34) This is the season of sickness. Some people like to be pampered when they are sick. Others like to be left alone. What comforts your beloved when they don't feel well?

A Family Perspective

Please run this in your 2/4/2018 bulletin.

In today’s gospel Jesus went to the “house of Andrew and Simon” to relax but discovered that Simon’s mother-in-law was very ill. Like Jesus we come home to relax but are often confronted with problems. Take a tip from Andrew and Simon and tell Jesus about it “immediately”.
