Cancer support group for patients
and their caregivers

Our next sessions will be:
Thursday, Jan. 19
Thursday, Feb. 16
T
hursday, March 15

Some people don't even want to say the "C" word, let alone admit that some form of "it" has entered my/his/her life. When the doctor says-“I’m sorry to tell you this, but you have cancer" it's like getting hit in the face with a 2 X 4 for both the patient and their caregiver. Questions go through our minds, such as – “What do I/we do now?” “What are my chances of surviving?” “Am I going to die?” “Why did God do this to me?” “I need to talk to someone!”

Need to talk? Want to "Vent"?
Need hope? Want prayer?

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie invites you and your family members to share thoughts, hopes, angers and fears about cancer. We will listen to our stories, offer suggestions and join in prayer. Our group will be led by Deacon Tom Matusiak who was a cancer caregiver. It is open to all people who are open to God's presence in their lives.

We will meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at St. Mark Catholic Center (429 East Grandview Blvd. in Erie) in the Bishop Michael J. Murphy Conference Room (entrance located in the back of the building on the West side. Look for the big red "C" on the door.

We will meet from 7 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. There is no charge and parking is plentiful and free. If you have questions, please contact Deacon Tom via email at deacontom@holytrinityrc.org or at Holy Trinity Church – 456.0671.

If you approach from East Grandview Blvd., take the driveway to the back of the building and make an immediate left (don't go past the garages).

If you come from East Gore Road, bear to the left of the garages but don't drive around the corner to the front of the building. Look for the glass door in the corner (On the evenings scheduled for cancer groups this door will be marked with a red "C".)
