Include Catholic Charities In Your Will

If you would like to consider a gift to Catholic Charities through your will, there are several methods by which you can do so, each reducing the taxable nature of your estate.

• A specific bequest of a fixed amount is the most common type of bequest. It can be changed over the years.

• A percentage bequest is the most flexible and is expressed as a percentage of the estate.

• A residual bequest conveys to the remaining beneficiary all assets that remain after all debts/taxes/etc. have been satisfied.

As an aid, highlight and paste the following text into your will:

General Bequest

I give and bequeath ____________ Dollars ($_____) to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Erie, Inc., a not-for-profit organization incorporated in the State of Pennsylvania, the administrative office at 429 East Grandview Boulevard, Erie, Pennsylvania, for its general purposes.

Residuary Estate

I give my residuary estate, which is all the rest, residue, and remainder of my property, real and personal, of every kind and description and wherever located, belonging to me at the time of my death or subject to my disposal by will to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Erie, Inc., a non-for-profit organization incorporated in the State of Pennsylvania, the administrative office at 429 East Grandview Boulevard, Erie, Pennsylvania, for its general purposes.
