Sunday, October 15, 2017, the Diocesan Youth Board will host Family Fest '17 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Erie Bayfront Convention Center. Join in for a dynamic experience of church with speakers, family-friendly activities and Mass with Bishop Persico. CLICK HERE for full details and registration information.

August 15 – October 15, 2017, Erie County families will notice something new. With the permission of Bishop Persico, the Erie County Parishes of the Diocese of Erie will be displaying Take Me to Worship signs and car decals to show support for the message of the TMTW initiative. Research states that children who participate in regular, weekly religious institution worship services are less likely to be involved with violence, drug and alcohol use, and committing suicide. Families, please pay attention to these signs and spread the word, “Take Me to Worship!”

This book helps parents to truly be the first educators of the faith with a spiritual lesson for the family for every week of the year. These lessons are short, family-friendly, interesting, entertaining and may be used right at the dinner table! The Family Life Office is promoting this book and will have copies at Family Fest in October 2017 (More details about Family Fest to come). See your family’s faith soar! Give it a try!

THE FAMILY SHIELD: A FAMILY MINI RETREATHere is an idea for a family retreat offered by the USCCB in 2015. It involves scripture reading, group work, reflection, and creation of a family shield to be taken home and hung up by families. The Family Shield craft was part of Family Fest 2016. PARISHES or individual FAMILIES are welcome to gather together and share this mini retreat.
