Tickets available to annual Catholic Charities Ball
The 22nd annual Catholic Charities Ball—“Lights, Camera, Action”—will be held May 20 at the Bayfront Convention Center in Erie. Enjoy two complimentary cocktails and delicious food stations before dancing the night away to the music of The Chozen Few.

Tickets are $100 per person for this cocktail-attire event. All proceeds benefit the agencies and affiliates of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Erie. Please make reservations before May 5 by visiting http://www.eriercd.org/charitiesball.htm.

Our Lady of Peace Casino Night planned at Rainbow Gardens
Our Lady of Peace Parish and School in Erie will host its Casino Night at Rainbow Gardens, 220 Peninsula Drive, Erie, on April 29. Doors open at 6 p.m., with games from 7 p.m. to midnight. Games will include video horse races, instant bingo, 50/50 raffle and a cornhole tournament. The cost is $20 for two admissions, which includes food, beer and a chance for cash prizes. Son of God Prayer Group encourages attendance at healing Mass
The Son of God Prayer Group affiliated with Holy Rosary Parish in Erie encourages everyone to attend a healing Mass on Tuesday, May 2, at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, E. 28th Street and East Avenue, Erie. Father David Poulson, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Cambridge Springs, will officiate. The church will open at 5:30 p.m. to provide time to write petitions on a simulated brick wall. Our Lady of Mount Carmel to celebrate final school event
Save the date for a final celebration of 55 years of Catholic education at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Erie. The event, called “Thanks for the Memories,” will be held June 8 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the school, located at 1531 E. Grandview Blvd. Food will be available at reasonable prices; bring chairs and blankets. Enjoy a DJ, a bouncy house, a 50/50 raffle and fireworks. More updates to follow.


Position open in Office for the Protection of Children and Youth
The Diocese of Erie is seeking a coordinator for the Office for the Protection of Children and Youth located at St. Mark Catholic Center in Erie. This position’s objective is to collaborate with and to assist the director of that same office in ensuring the welfare of children and youth through oversight of our diocesan policy, “For the Protection of Children and Youth.” This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) 
  • Competency with Microsoft Word and working knowledge Microsoft Access, Excel and Publisher
  • Good record-keeping, attention to detail, professional confidentiality and people skills.
