Pastors asked to review Catholic Education Collection information
In anticipation of the annual Catholic Education Collection (CEC) on Sept. 14-15, pastors are asked to review several attachments below that are part of a CEC promotional kit. This promotional material also can be found by going to the diocesan website at http://www.eriercd.org/cec.asp.

Half of every dollar donated to the collection stays in a parish. Please use the information to encourage support among parishioners.

Attachments include a letter from Bishop Lawrence Persico, sample bulletin inserts, other promotional ideas, and both black and white and color CEC posters. Under separate cover, pastors will receive a letter from Father Nick Rouch, vicar for education, along with copies of the 2013 Catholic Education Collection poster that can displayed. The posters here and on the website can be downloaded and either included in the body of a bulletin or placed as a bulletin insert.

Tips for staying hydrated
Each year, 318 Americans die due to heat-related illnesses, according to the Centers for Disease Control. The unnerving fact is that most of these deaths would have been prevented had the victims understood the realities of dehydration and heat-related illnesses.
