Operation Rice Bowl held during Lent
The Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Rice Bowl Collection provides resources to bring Lenten spirituality to life for families, parishes, and school communities, by continuing to connect Catholics in our diocese with our brothers and sisters in need around the world. See the attached letter from Bishop Lawrence Persico. Parishes are encouraged to make the Rice Bowl available to parishioners.

Liturgical resources for parishes during this time of transition

All pastors recently received a hard copy of Liturgical Resources for Parish Restructuring, a guide produced by the Office of Worship. The guide includes Mass introductions, intercessions, sample closing remarks and blessings designed specifically for:

  1. Parishes not experiencing restructuring at this time
  2. Parishes that are partnering
  3. Communities that are being merged into an existing parish, including prayers for a final parish Mass
  4. Parishes welcoming new parishioners.

The prayers can be used both before and after the weekend of Feb. 17-18, 2017.

The guides also are available at www.ErieRCD.org/planning.htm.

Please contact Matt Clark in the Office of Worship at 814-824-1270, or mclark@ErieRCD.org, if he can be of further assistance.
