Save the date for cathedral celebration
All are welcome to the 125th Anniversary Gala celebrating the 125th anniversary of St. Peter Cathedral in Erie. See the attached flier to keep as a reminder or to post in parishes, schools.

Western Vicariate parishes invited to St. Peter Cathedral
Bishop Lawrence Persico invites members of the parishes in the Western Vicariate of the Diocese of Erie to join him at St. Peter Cathedral, W. 10th and Sassafras streets, Erie, for 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday, Feb. 11, in celebration of the 125th year of worship at the cathedral, the mother church of the diocese. Guided tours of the church, including the crypt, will immediately follow Mass. Social time will include coffee and donuts.

Attention all diocesan parishes and agencies
There has been a revision to the address that appears on the form used for reporting accidents or injuries. All previous versions should be discarded and replaced with the revised form, which includes a change under the second bullet point under the heading “Accident Reporting and Compliance.” Go to www.ErieRCD.org/hr.htm for the replacement form.

Is your parish or school having a Lenten dinner?
To advertise parish or school Lenten dinners in the “Lenten Offerings” feature in the Feb. 4 edition of FaithLife newspaper, contact Brenda Williams, advertising manager, at 814-824-1161 or 1-800-374-3723, ext. 161, or email bwilliams@ErieRCD.org. Space must be reserved by Jan. 20. Provide the date(s), time, place and cost for the dinner and, if needed, a phone number. The cost is $35 per listing. This is a great resource for those looking for meatless dinners during Lent.

Only four days left to earn $100
There are only four days left for full-time employees covered by the Diocese of Erie health insurance plan to earn a $100 reward for completing the wellness initiative. This initiative runs until Jan. 19, 2018. Learn how to earn your $100 reward here: http://ErieRCD.org/pdf/wellness/handout.pdf. There are three simple steps: 1) Complete the online wellness profile; 2) Get a wellness exam and enter the date into your Highmark account; 3) Set any goal with a health coach (call Blues on Call on the back of your member ID card or set a goal with WebMD Digital Health Assistant). Join Erie’s March for Life Jan. 27
The 2018 Erie March for Life, themed “Life: The Universal Language,” will be held Jan. 27 beginning at 11 a.m. at the pavilion in west Perry Square in downtown Erie. Those who are participating are asked to arrive by 10:45 a.m. Signs will be available for everyone. Wear warm clothes and comfortable, non-slip footwear.

Practice your free throws!
The Father Simpson, Father Dwyer Knights Council #6191 of Edinboro and Cambridge Springs will sponsor its annual K of C Free Throw Championship at Our Lady of the Lake social center, 128 Sunset Drive, Edinboro, on Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. Registration and warm-ups begin at noon. All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are invited to participate. Sign-up forms are available in the social center lobby or participants may register on the day of the event. Prep and Villa present Aida
Cathedral Prep and Villa Maria Academy present Elton John’s and Tim Rice’s Aida, at the H. David Bowes Auditorium, 225 W. 9th St., Erie, on Feb. 8-10 at 7 p.m., and Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Aida is the 2000 winner of four Tony Awards that chronicles the love triangle between Aida, a Nubian princess stolen from her country, Amneris, an Egyptian princess, and Radames, the Egyptian general they both love.

Full-time administrative assistant position available
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Erie has an immediate opening for a full-time administrative assistant. The person in this position will have a commitment to the mission of Catholic Charities and provide administrative and clerical support for a variety of ministries and programs. As a primary contact for incoming calls, this position requires a special sensitivity, maturity and professionalism, along with a working knowledge of diocesan and community resources. A demonstrated proficiency in utilizing and maintaining database software and Microsoft Office products is required. Ability and experience in creating print, website and social media-based resources is a plus.
