Open letter regarding faith formation
Now that preliminary recommendations for faith formation in the Diocese of Erie have been made public, Bishop Lawrence Persico has created a faith formation implementation team to analyze feedback and provide parishes with tangible steps and a range of ideas about how the recommendations might be refined and realized. Attached is an open letter from the team addressing a number of concerns people may have regarding faith formation. Also, please note that the feedback period has now been extended an extra month, through Aug. 28.

Attention, clergy
If any clergy are planning to attend either of the Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Celebrations (Aug. 6 at St. Leo Magnus, Ridgway, or Aug. 13 at St. Jude the Apostle, Erie), please directly contact the pastor of each parish so accommodations can be made for your presence at the liturgy. Also, please continue to advertise these celebrations until July 30, 2017. Online reservations can be made at http://www.ErieRCD.org/anniv.htm. Otherwise, couples may reserve a spot by contacting their parish or the Family Life Office at 814-824-1250.

NFP Awareness Week set for July 23-29

To kick off this special week, join Bishop Persico and families from throughout the diocese on July 23 at the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Peter Cathedral in Erie. Stay after Mass for a free, family friendly luncheon at the Cathedral Center. There will be an opportunity to continue the celebration at Presque Isle State Park after the luncheon.
