Faithful Servants jubilee edition to be delivered soon
Parishes can expect to receive the annual Faithful Servants jubilee edition within the next several days. Copies of this special publication may be distributed at Masses and left in the parishes for parishioners. FaithLife newspaper will resume its regular bi-weekly schedule, beginning Aug. 20.

Notice regarding promotional materials for national collections
The USCCB offers promotional materials for all national collections to parishes, free of charge. Many parishes take advantage of this offer for at least one collection. Due to the recent parish reconfigurations, there will be changes to some of these orders. Beginning with the 2018 collections, all promotional materials previously ordered by what are now secondary churches will be sent to the parish to which the church now belongs. This means that some parishes will see an increase in materials for certain collections, or may receive materials for collections that they did not previously order. Please feel free to use these materials in secondary mission churches. There will be an opportunity next year to change your orders for the 2019 collections. Please direct questions to Maria Caulfield in the Chancery at 814-824-1135.

‘Take Me to Worship’ press conference scheduled in August
“Take Me to Worship,” an initiative of Unified Erie’s Religiosity Committee, is an Erie County campaign to encourage regular weekly participation in organized religious institutions. The data behind this initiative states that weekly religious participation helps minimize violence, drug and alcohol use, and incidence of suicide. Bishop Lawrence Persico has given Catholic parishes in Erie County permission to participate in this opportunity to evangelize fallen-away Catholics and those who may want to become part of the Catholic faith.

A press conference to kick-off the “Take Me to Worship” campaign is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m. at Frontier Park in Erie. Msgr. Edward Lohse, vicar general, will be present as spokesperson for the diocese. Other clergy and parishioners are invited to participate as well. By participating, Erie County parishes show support for an evangelization effort that helps our community and our Catholic parishes in the area. For more information, contact the Family Life Office of the Diocese of Erie at 814-824-1261 or familylife@ErieRCD.org.
