Reminder to RSVP for vicariate meetings on faith formation
Pastors are reminded to RSVP for the vicariate meetings on faith formation to be held in Erie (Our Lady of Peace), Hermitage (Notre Dame), and St. Marys (Queen of the World) on June 13, 14 and 15, respectively. If you have not already done so, please RSVP by June 9 to Sister Kathleen Dietz, FSO, at kdietz@ErieRCD.org or 814-824-1135 with the meeting you will attend and the number of people from your parish(es) you will be bringing. Attached are two documents: a letter from Bishop Lawrence Persico about the vicariate meetings, and a list of people to be invited to the meetings.

PDS news from the Diocesan Development Office
Attention, pastors, directors of religious education and all users of PDS: The Diocese of Erie is implementing a new set of data-entry standards for salutations and addresses for use in PDS Church Office, with the goal that all PDS records be updated to reflect these standards no later than Sept. 1, 2017. On May 2, the new standards were introduced to parish staff at an in-service day. The same information can be found at http://www.ErieRCD.org/datapolicy.htm and is being mailed to parish staff who were unable to attend.

The goal of these new standards is to enable parishes as well as diocesan offices to generate personalized letters from PDS, including the annual letter sent from Bishop Lawrence Persico to Catholic Services Appeal donors. In order to do so, however, it is essential that data be entered into PDS fields in a consistent manner across the diocese. Achieving this consistency is the reason for the new data-entry standards. Please know that the diocesan development staff is available to assist parish staff as they make the necessary changes to parish databases. Questions should be directed to Amanda Phanco at 814-824-1194. Thank you for your support in this effort as we work to standardize our PDS databases to bring a more personalized approach to our communications.

Take Me to Worship orders due from Erie County parishes
Pastors and staff of Erie County Catholic parishes are reminded to place their free initial package order of the Take Me To Worship campaign by June 22. The package contains one yard sign and 25 car decals. The Catholic Foundation provided the funding for the first package that is ordered per parish, but additional items may be purchased and ordered, if desired, by contacting the Family Life Office at 814-824-1265 or at familylife@ErieRCD.org. See the attachment for details. This campaign, sponsored by the Religiosity Committee of Unified Erie, will be advertising throughout Erie County from Aug 15 to Oct. 30, 2017. Erie County parishes of the Diocese of Erie have chosen to participate in this initiative that reminds families of the benefits of regular, weekly attendance at Mass (See www.takemetoworship.org for details.)

Pastors and administrators will find attached Bishop Lawrence Persico’s letter introducing the 2017 Collection for the Holy Father (Peter’s Pence.) Parishes are asked to publicize this collection in a significant way on the weekend of June 17-18.
