Notre Dame University Satellite Theological Education Program
Providing quality theological education to pastoral ministers and other adult Catholics across the country. Conducted via the Internet, STEP provides a wide variety of adult faith formation opportunities. STEP is a part of Notre Dame’s Institute for Church Life.

Catholic Distance University
Using online and paper based learning formats, CDU brings a carefully designed curriculum of doctrinal, moral and spiritual formation into your home, at your computer, on your schedule. All courses and programs are faithfully Catholic and nationally accredited.

Dayton University, Ohio
The Institute for Pastoral Initiatives at the University of Dayton offers classes in Scripture, Sacraments, Catholic Beliefs, Church History, Jesus, and other related topics. The classes are designed to support adult faith formation and the catechetical ministry of the Church. Courses run for 5 weeks and are capped at 12 participants in order to create the experience of a small virtual community, not an independent study.

Year of the Priest  2009-2010
On Friday, June 19, the Year for the Priest was inaugurated by Pope Benedict XVI. Here are a few websites that may be of interest to you as you undertake participation in the theme: “Faithfulness of Christ, Faithfulness of Priests.”

USCCB Year for Priests provides prayers, indulgences, articles and promotional materials.

Congregation for the Clergy offers spiritual resources and documents for priests and lay people to celebrate the year, in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.

WorldPriest presents online resources in an attempt to unite English-speaking Catholic communities to pray for priests

Remember Second Harvest?  It has changed its name to Feeding America. You will find much information and many things to do, including taking a hunger quiz. In fairly affluent Bergen County, NJ, we were surprised to find out how many people need to use the Food Banks. The statistics for the rural areas are also shocking.
