What is youth ministry?
The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry follows the vision of the Department of Religious Education, which is "Enabling passionate, joyful ministers of evangelizing catechesis committed to excellence and integrity in pastoral leadership."
The office of youth ministry builds its ministry from two foundational documents. The first is the General Directory for Catechesis (Congregation of the Clergy, 1997, especially paragraphs #181-185).
The second foundational document is Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry (National Conference of Catholic Bishops, 1997). This office takes very seriously our call to achieve the three goals of youth ministry for every last youth we serve: |
