The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

All young men who are striving to follow Jesus’ call in their lives and who are open to the possibility of the seminary and priesthood are welcome to join Bishop Lawrence Persico; Father Michael Polinek, vocations director; and other priests for a light dinner, sharing of vocation stories, and prayer on April 22 at St. Jude School, Erie. All sixth- through 12th-graders invited to retreat at St. Mark the Evangelist
Sixth- through 12th-graders in the Diocese of Erie are invited to attend NET Ministries’ interactive youth conference at St. Mark the Evangelist Parish in Lawrence Park on April 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. NET Ministries is an international youth ministry that challenges young Catholics to love Christ and embrace the life of the Catholic Church. This conference will encourage participants to define who they are and remember that there is one identity they don’t have to earn and which cannot be taken away. Catholic Rural Ministry sponsors ‘Spirituality and COVID-19’ program
Catholic Rural Ministry is sponsoring a morning Zoom/telephone program, titled “Spirituality and COVID-19,” featuring international speaker, poet, artist and writer Edwina Gateley, on April 16 from 10 a.m. to noon. To register, call 814-677-2032 or email srtinag@gmail.com. A Zoom link will be sent to registered participants before the event. A free will offering is accepted.

Camp Notre Dame to open for day, overnight camping
Camp Notre Dame will be open for both day and overnight camping in 2021 with limited enrollment. Registrations are now being accepted for 4- to 12-year-old day camps that begin on June 28. Overnight camping this year will be limited, but there will be seven weeks of 7- to 14-year-old camping, as well as special offerings for 15-, 16- and 17-year-olds. Word of Life event/luncheon scheduled April 17
Word of Life Charismatic Renewal Center of the Diocese of Erie is hosting a luncheon, “Eucharistic Miracles,” featuring guest speaker Dr. Jaci Phillips, on April 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Parish/Bread of Life Community, 147 W. 24th St., Erie. Centering prayer weekend offered at Bethany Retreat Center in June
Join Keith Kristich as he leads a centering prayer weekend June 4-6 at Bethany Retreat Center in Frenchville. The weekend will explore the reality of oneness with God through teaching, reflection and centering prayer practice. The cost is $198. Contemplative spirituality retreat offered June 10-13
Explore contemplative spirituality at a June 10-13 retreat at the Bethany Retreat Center in Frenchville. Presenter Susan Komis will explore awakenings that open the door to understanding contemplative prayer, transformation and union with God. Portions of this retreat are interactive but will include periods of centering prayer, silence, solitude, small group experiences and enjoyment of the Bethany Retreat Center. The cost is $298. Looking for assistance with housing maintenance?
Attached is a document from the City of Erie’s Homeowner Mini Grant Program that details how low- to moderate-income homeowners in the City of Erie may apply for a grant for necessary housing maintenance needs or emergency repairs. Food pantry volunteers needed
St. Martin Center, 1701 Parade St., Erie, is in need of food pantry volunteers. Volunteer hours vary, Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Volunteers must be 18 or older. COVID safety measures are in place at all times.
