Help rebuild Notre Dame Cathedral
The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., has set up a fund to help rebuild the Notre Dame Cathedral. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops is recommending that those who would like to support this effort visit www.SupportNotreDame.org. All proceeds will be used solely for the assistance of Notre Dame Cathedral and those affected by this tragedy. Checks can also be mailed to: Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, ATTN: Msgr. Walter Rossi, Rector, 400 Michigan Avenue, NE, Washington, D.C. 20017. Checks should be made payable to “Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.” In the memo line of the check, indicate “Cathedral of Notre Dame Fund.”
Club CC set for May 11
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Erie and Bishop Lawrence Persico invite you to save the date for Club CC, a night to support the good works of Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Erie. The event will be held at Erie’s Bayfront Convention Center on May 11 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. This year’s Helping Hands Award honoree is Michael Bailey, who has inspired many through his generosity and vision in the community, in his parish and through Catholic Charities. Dr. Benjamin Stumpf and Attorney Colleen Stumpf are serving as the Host Circle chairs. Platinum Circle sponsors for the evening include Highmark and AHN Saint Vincent. WJET anchor Jill McCormick will emcee the event, which includes heavy hors d’oeuvres as well as dancing to the sounds of Cleveland DJ Brent Schmidt. Relic to visit Diocese of Erie
The Diocese of Erie is privileged to host a significant relic – the heart of St. John Vianney, patron of diocesan priests – June 6 at St. Peter Cathedral, W. 10th and Sassafras streets. Parishes and schools are encouraged to publicize this special event and consider organizing a pilgrimage. More information will be provided very soon. Evening of prayer, music in Falls Creek

People for Life in Erie will host a pro-life town hall meeting May 1 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bayfront Convention Center, 1 Sassafras Pier, Erie. The Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation will discuss pro-life progress and challenges in Pennsylvania. A question-and-answer opportunity will be included. Admission is free.
Life in the Spirit seminar planned at OLP
Word of Life Diocesan Charismatic Renewal and Our Lady of Peace Parish are sponsoring “The Gift,” a Life in the Spirit seminar, on May 10 from 6 to 9 p.m., and May 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 2401 W. 38th St., Erie. The seminar consists of talks, group discussions and worship, culminating in the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
