World Day of Prayer for Vocations
The World Day of Prayer for Vocations is May 11-12. Along with celebrating Mother’s Day and giving thanks to all our retired priests for their many years of faithful service, this day provides a great opportunity to focus on vocations and to pray specifically that young men and women will hear the voice of the Good Shepherd and respond with a generous heart. This week, each parish will receive a packet from the Vocations Office that includes bulletin inserts, intercessions, homily ideas and other great resources.

Club CC set for May 11
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Erie and Bishop Lawrence Persico invite you to Club CC, a night to support the good works of Catholic Charities in the Diocese of Erie. The event will be held at Erie’s Bayfront Convention Center on May 11 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. The evening includes heavy hors d’oeuvres as well as dancing to the sounds of Cleveland DJ Brent Schmidt. Relic to visit Diocese of Erie
The Diocese of Erie is privileged to host a significant relic – the heart of St. John Vianney, patron of diocesan priests – June 6 at St. Peter Cathedral, W. 10th and Sassafras streets. Parishes and schools are encouraged to publicize this special event and consider organizing a pilgrimage. More information will be provided very soon. For information on the relic tour, visit https://www.kofc.org/en/events/vianney.html#/.

‘Liturgy Jot’ is available now
The attached April issue of “Good Liturgy Matters-Jot” deals with the Communion procession. This one-page, easy-to-read article is released monthly by the Office of Worship and is designed to help parish communities reflect on and improve their weekly liturgies. Consider including “Jot” in your parish bulletin or discuss it at liturgy committee and pastoral council meetings. Please send comments or questions to the Office of Worship at 814-824-1270.

Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Office 2010 being retired
Windows 7 and Server 2008 are being retired Jan. 14, 2020; Office 2010 is being retired Oct. 13, 2020. It may be feasible to upgrade Windows 7 devices to Windows 10, but it may be wise to first consider the age of your equipment. Some devices could be 10 years old or older if upgraded to Windows 7 from a previous version. Installing Windows 10 on an older computer could result in very slow speed. Purchasing a new computer may be a better option, but current hardware shortages have made computer prices higher than usual. Consider waiting to make a new purchase. This summer, the Information Technology department of the Diocese of Erie will advertise special pricing on desktop and laptop computers for home and office use. If interested in hearing about those deals, complete a pre-planning survey at https://form.jotform.com/91153265595159. Please forward this announcement to staff/co-workers. More information will be forthcoming.
