The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

Free access to myParish App available for parishes in the diocese
The Communications Office of the Diocese of Erie is pleased to announce that parishes in the diocese will continue to enjoy myParish App, free of charge. The app can be used for messaging, sharing bulletins, accessing daily Mass readings, news updates and much more. Find details at https://myparishapp.com/. World Apostolate of Fatima-Erie plans expansion of Home Enthronement Ministry
Plans are underway to expand the Home Enthronement Ministry to each geographical region of the Diocese of Erie beginning in June. Thirteen Sacred Heart statues and 13 Our Lady of Fatima statues will be needed to provide one set for each of the priests/spiritual directors/lay coordinators who offer home enthronements in their respective areas. The purchase price for each statue is estimated at $160 each. Monetary donations may be made to the World Apostolate of Fatima-Erie, c/o John Kostrubanic, president, P.O. Box 311, Fairview, PA 16415. All donors will be recognized by name and city in an upcoming World Apostolate of Fatima-Erie newsletter and will be invited to a special Mass at Erie’s Sacred Heart Church on June 11 at 5:30 p.m. Bishop Lawrence Persico will bless all the statues.

Remember Good Shepherd Sunday/Diocesan Priest Retirement Collection
The annual Good Shepherd Collection for retired priests of the Diocese of Erie will be taken up at all parishes as a second collection the weekend of April 24-25. A promotion kit has been prepared by Msgr. Daniel Magraw, director of the Good Shepherd Collection, and should help pastors and their office staff to effectively promote the collection. The kit and other resources, including a letter from Bishop Lawrence Persico, are available at https://www.eriercd.org/Good-Shepherd-Collection-materials.html. Parish administration of the collection will be the same as other special collections. Please remit initial proceeds to the diocesan Finance Office by May 30. Final contributions received should be submitted to the Finance Office before June 30. For questions or assistance with promoting this collection, contact Msgr. Word of Life event/luncheon scheduled April 17
Word of Life Charismatic Renewal Center of the Diocese of Erie is hosting a luncheon, “Eucharistic Miracles,” featuring guest speaker Dr. Jaci Phillips, on April 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Parish/Bread of Life Community, 147 W. 24th St., Erie. Explore contemplative spirituality at a June 10-13 retreat at the Bethany Retreat Center in Frenchville. Presenter Susan Komis will explore awakenings that open the door to understanding contemplative prayer, transformation and union with God. Portions of this retreat are interactive but will include periods of Centering Prayer, silence, solitude, small group experiences and enjoyment of the Bethany Retreat Center. The cost is $298. Looking for assistance with housing maintenance?
Attached is a document from the City of Erie’s Homeowner Mini Grant Program that details how low- to moderate-income homeowners in the City of Erie may apply for a grant for necessary housing maintenance needs or emergency repairs. Food pantry volunteers needed
St. Martin Center, 1701 Parade St., Erie, is in need of food pantry volunteers. Volunteer hours vary, Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Volunteers must be 18 or older. COVID safety measures are in place at all times.
