The second issue of ‘Jot’ is available now
The attached January issue of “Good Liturgy Matters-Jot” deals with liturgical silence. The aim of “GLM-Jot” — a one-page, easy-to-read article released monthly from the Office of Worship — is to help parish communities reflect on their weekly liturgies over time. Consider including “Jot” in your parish bulletin or discuss it at liturgy committee and pastoral council meetings. Please send comments or questions to the Office of Worship at 814-824-1270.
2019 Catholic Services Appeal update
The Catholic Foundation of Northwest Pennsylvania provides CSA campaign resources and support to the Diocese of Erie. Benedictine Sister to present climate crisis talk
Benedictine Sister Anne McCarthy will present “Climate Crisis and Humility: Benedict’s Teaching as a Guide” at the community’s Enrichment Series Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. at Mount Saint Benedict Monastery, 6101 East Lake Road, Erie. See the attachment for more details.
St. George to host all-day pro-life event Jan. 18
For those unable to attend the national March for Life in Washington, D.C., St. George Parish and its Respect Life Ministry will host an all-day pro-life event Jan. 18 at St. George Church, 5145 Peach St., Erie. Activities will include EWTN’s livestreaming of the March for Life, as well as Adoration, a children’s video and a documentary showing for adults. See the attached document for more details.

Sharpsville parish to host spaghetti dinner event
The St. Bartholomew Parish Holy Name Society is holding its annual spaghetti dinner Jan. 27 from noon to 4 p.m. at the parish social center, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville. All are invited. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12. Eat in or take-out. The dinner includes homemade pasta, meatballs and sauce, fresh bread, salad and spumoni. Complimentary coffee, iced tea and lemonade. Soft drinks and bottled water are available for purchase. Mass, breakfast scheduled to honor seminarians

Save the date for St. Jude’s purse bingo event
The St. Jude the Apostle Parish PTO will hold a purse bingo event Feb. 24 to benefit the faculty, staff, students and programs at the west Erie school. The event will be held at the Saga Club of Erie, 3828 Washington Ave., Erie.
