All parishes invited to order Take Me to Worship materials
Pastors and staff of all parishes in the Diocese of Erie are invited to place orders for 2018 Take Me to Worship yard signs and/or car magnets by June 27. This year, parishes outside of Erie County have the opportunity to receive one free yard sign with their parish name(s) through a grant from the Evangelization Endowment of the Catholic Foundation of Northwest Pennsylvania. Additional yard signs and/or car magnets may be purchased by any parish in the diocese. (Erie County parishes that received signs in 2017 are encouraged to re-use them this year and purchase additional signs/magnets, if interested.) This campaign, sponsored by the Religiosity Committee of Unified Erie, will run from Aug. 15 to Oct. 30, 2018 (www.takemetoworship.org). For questions or to place orders, contact the Family Life Office at 814-824-1265 or familylife@ErieRCD.org. See the attachment for pricing of campaign materials.

Canon law refresher course on marriage, annulments
The Office of the Tribunal and Matrimonial Concerns of the Diocese of Erie is offering a refresher class covering a full range of topics in canon law relevant to marriage and annulments. This course is being offered in three different areas of the diocese in July. See the attachment for full details.

Religious Freedom Week June 22-29
We are called to follow Christ as missionary disciples by serving others and living our faith in all that we do. Religious Freedom Week is June 22-29. This year’s message is “Serving Others in God’s Love” and follows a model of prayer, reflection and action on religious liberty, both in this country and abroad.

The following resources are provided on the webpage of the Office of Social Justice and Life (https://www.ErieRCD.org/socialjusticelife/ReligiousFreedomWeek.html), courtesy of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB):

  • a bulletin insert
  • daily reflections on which to pray, reflect and act
  • homily helps for June 24, the Solemnity of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, and for July 1, the Sunday before Independence Day.

Consider promoting Religious Freedom Week in your parish and follow the Social Justice and Life Office on Instagram at @eriercd.sjl and on Twitter at @ERIERCDsjl. For more information, contact Patrice Swick, director of the Social Justice and Life Office, at 814-824-1254 or pswick@ErieRCD.org.
