Priests’ salary scale information
Priests will find attached the salary scale for the 2018-19 fiscal year.

Bishop to preside at Holy Week liturgies
Bishop Lawrence Persico will preside at the following Holy Week liturgies scheduled at St. Peter Cathedral, 230 W. 10th St., Erie:
  • Palm Sunday, March 25 at 11 a.m.
  • Chrism Mass, March 26 at 4 p.m.
  • Holy Thursday Mass of the Last Supper, March 29 at 7 p.m.
  • Good Friday Celebration of the Lord’s Passion, March 30 at 3 p.m.
  • Easter Vigil, March 31 at 8:30 p.m.

Mass for Eastern Vicariate scheduled at St. Peter Cathedral
Bishop Lawrence Persico invites members of the parishes in the Eastern Vicariate of the Diocese of Erie to join him at St. Peter Cathedral, W. 10th and Sassafras streets, Erie, for 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday, April 15. The Mass is in celebration of the 125th year of worship at the cathedral, the mother church of the diocese. There will be a guided tour of the church, including the crypt, immediately following the Mass. Social time will include coffee and donuts.

Parishes asked to share Catholic Charities information
Catholic Charities Counseling and Adoption Services in Sharon is expanding its Real Alternatives Pregnancy and Parenting Support Program. The program is open to all moms and dads (residents of Pennsylvania) who are expecting. There are no income guidelines. Enroll while you’re pregnant and receive a year of free services, including pregnancy and parenting support, diapers, baby toiletries, baby food and/or formula and new or gently used baby clothing. For more information, call 724-346-4142. Have you already had your baby without being enrolled? You can still qualify for five visits. Call to schedule.

Note about 2018 directory mailings
If you have ordered a new 2018 directory since February, please note that the Communications Office is holding orders until it has sufficient quantity to send them in bulk. The cost to mail individual books is more than $5 each. If you would like to pick up your directory in person, visit the Office of Communications at St. Mark Catholic Center, 429 E. Pastors asked to recommend Camp Notre Dame summer staff
The board of directors of Camp Notre Dame is requesting the help of pastors to find enthusiastic college students and recent high school graduates for the 2018 summer camp staff. Please see the attached letter from Father Mark Nowak. The letter includes a suggested announcement for publication in parish bulletins.

Mercy Sisters to host spring tea
The Sisters of Mercy, House of Mercy, will host its annual spring tea April 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel’s Scheffner Hall, 1553 E. Grandview Blvd., Erie. Enjoy a traditional tea in an elegant setting with sandwiches, cookies, fruit, tea and punch, along with a gift auction. Tickets are $25. Make reservations now for Lancaster bus trip
St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Lawrence Park is hosting a June 5-6 bus trip to Lancaster, Pa., to see Sight & Sound Theatres’ “JESUS.” The excursion includes a round-trip deluxe motor coach, one night lodging, three meals, and reserved seating at the event. Next Cursillo scheduled for April
A Men's Cursillo will be held April 19-22 at Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Erie. Cursillo is a personal encounter weekend with Christ that is open to both men and women 18 and older. If women are married, the husband must attend a Cursillo first. Please submit an application for the upcoming men’s Cursillo as soon as possible. Opening for development coordinator/communication and event specialist
The Catholic Foundation of Northwest Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time communication and event specialist to contribute to all aspects of donor relations for the Catholic Foundation and its constituents. Duties include print and digital communication initiatives, PR and promotion, event planning and donor engagement. Required qualifications include:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-plus years of experience within donor relations and event planning spheres
  • Excellent creative writing and proofreading skills
  • Proficiency with a broad range of computer software principles, including Microsoft Office, donor database management and digital communication platforms
  • Ability to supervise projects and budgets and to lead and energize work groups
  • Knowledge of Catholic stewardship principles a plus.
