Time change for Triduum celebrations at St. Peter Cathedral
Times for the liturgical celebrations of Holy Thursday and Good Friday with Bishop Lawrence Persico at St. Peter Cathedral have changed. The new schedule is: Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 5:15 p.m., and the Good Friday celebration of the Lord’s Passion at 2 p.m. Both events will be live-streamed and remain available for viewing on the homepage of St. Peter Cathedral, Erie, at https://stpetercathedral.com/. Please note that, due to publishing deadlines, these changes are not reflected in the upcoming issue of Faith magazine.

2021 Good Shepherd Collection
Pastors and administrators will find attached Bishop Lawrence Persico’s letter introducing the 2021 Good Shepherd Collection for retired diocesan priests. Parishes are asked to publicize this collection in a significant way on the weekend of April 17-18.

Holy Week at Home
The Office of Faith Formation of the Diocese of Erie has prepared resources for families that still have not returned to public Mass and will be observing Holy Week from their homes again this year. Parishes are asked to consider running the attached announcement and image in bulletins to promote these resources to homebound parishioners. If a parish livestreams its liturgies, it may want to acknowledge and invite parishioners watching at home to take note of this announcement in the parish bulletin. This is an opportunity to let your homebound parishioners know that you are still connected, even if not in person. For questions, contact Jessie Hubert, director of Faith Formation for Parish Support, at jhubert@ErieRCD.org.

CRS Rice Bowl online giving for Lent 2021
A diocesan online giving option for the Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl Program has been added for individuals or families in the Diocese of Erie. Parishes and schools participating in Rice Bowl can encourage giving through https://www.eriercd.org/ricebowl.html. Sixty percent of all Rice Bowl contributions support CRS’ humanitarian and development programs overseas, providing life-saving assistance and hope to our sisters and brothers around the world. The remaining 40 percent stays in our diocese to support local hunger and poverty prevention programs. Questions concerning CRS Rice Bowl can be directed to Patrice Swick, director of the Social Justice and Life Office, at pswick@ErieRCD.org.
