Pastors and administrators will find attached the compensation plan for women religious for the upcoming year.

Mailing from the Chancery
All clergy are asked to look for a mailing from the Chancery that contains invitations and RSVP cards for the Chrism Mass and for 24 Hours for the Lord (priests in the greater Erie area only). Please be sure to return the RSVP cards to the Chancery as soon as possible. If, for any reason, clergy do not have the RSVP cards, please contact the Chancery at 814-824-1135.

Beware of scam emails, texts and calls
Individuals in the Diocese of Erie have been scammed of money and gift cards after unknown persons pretending to be the bishop and/or priests have made requests via email, texts and phone calls. Be suspicious of anyone requesting gift cards by phone, email or text. Check and double-check the source of this communication before taking any action. Parishes are asked to put the following announcement in bulletins:

In this age when personal data can be misused by scam artists, please be aware that the Roman Catholic Diocese of Erie, clergy and entities such as parishes and schools will never solicit your personal or business information by any method unless initiated by you. Should you receive an unsolicited request (including an email or text message) for such information or a request for financial assistance (including the purchase of gift cards of any type), exercise extreme caution. Contact the person or entity by using official contact information only. Do not use contact information provided in the potential fraudulent request.

Diocesan patronal feast of St. Patrick to be celebrated March 18
Bishop Lawrence Persico has determined that in the Diocese of Erie the feast of St. Patrick will be celebrated this year on Monday, March 18. Otherwise, the feast would not be observed due to the second Sunday of Lent, which supersedes the St. Patrick celebration on Sunday, March 17. Because St. Patrick is the Diocese of Erie’s principal patron, the St. Patrick liturgy is celebrated as a feast day here. The liturgical requirements for that Mass may be found in the attached St. Patrick document.
