2021 Catholic Campaign for Human Development
Please find attached Bishop Lawrence Persico’s letter introducing the 2021 collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, to be taken the weekend of Nov. 20-21, 2021. Parishes are asked to publicize this collection in a significant way on the weekend of Nov. 13-14.

Diocesan, episcopal coats of arms updated
Bishop Lawrence Persico recently discovered that the field on the diocesan coat of arms should be rendered in silver, not white. While the blue “waves” suggest Lake Erie, the silver is related to the coat of arms of William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania, thus indicating the state in which the Diocese of Erie is located. Updated versions of both the diocesan and episcopal coats of arms can be downloaded at Diocesan offices, parishes and affiliated agencies may still use any printed materials that feature the white field until they are depleted. But as new print or digital materials are created, the updated versions should be integrated. Websites and social media platforms also should be updated.
