Remember World Mission Sunday Oct. 20-21
World Mission Sunday, the annual worldwide Eucharistic celebration for missions and missionaries of the world, is Oct. 20-21. This is a global effort to support more than 1,000 local churches in Asia and Africa, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe. Please contribute at your parish to support mission priests, religious sisters and brothers, and lay catechists who provide necessary services to those most in need throughout the world.

Disaster relief efforts
From the tsunami in Indonesia to the hurricanes affecting the southern United States, natural disasters are currently affecting thousands of lives. Please discern whether God is inviting you to financially assist our sisters and brothers whose lives are being affected by natural disasters around the globe and in our own backyard. Visit the Social Justice and Life website at https://www.ErieRCD.org/socialjusticelife/disasterrelief.html to learn more about how you can donate to disaster relief efforts. Let us also remember to pray for those affected by natural disasters. Attached is a prayer suggestion from Catholic Charities USA.

Scheduling request for confirmations in 2019
The bishop’s available dates for confirmations in 2019 are now ready. Please review carefully the attached confirmation document. If you are in either the Western or Northern vicariates, consult with your dean as soon as possible so that he may respond to the Office of Worship by Nov. 19.
