Information regarding MyDioErie
Employees of parishes, schools and St. Mark Catholic Center—as well as clergy and religious—may access important forms and resources, other internal communications, the Information Bulletin and more through the MyDioErie portal on the diocesan website. To access the portal, visit www.ErieRCD.org and click the MyDioErie logo at the bottom of any of the web pages. MyDioErie is organized by audience. If you wear a couple of hats, you may find useful content in more than one category. The portal is not password protected, but some MyDioErie resources are protected, where appropriate.
Note to pastors, administrators concerning the Feast of Our Mother of Sorrows
Bishop Lawrence Persico has asked that on Sept. 15, the day when the Catholic Church venerates Our Mother of Sorrows, all churches—even those not regularly open—be open to the faithful from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., so that people may make private visits in prayerful response to the crisis of sexual abuse. Liturgical celebrations already scheduled for that day should occur as planned. Please simply make provision that the doors of the churches be opened for the times indicated. Any initiative above and beyond that on Sept. 15 is left to the pastoral judgment of the pastor/administrator.
Tribunal newsletter available
Attached is the September “Marriage Matters” newsletter of the Office of the Tribunal and Matrimonial Concerns of the Diocese of Erie.
2018 Catholic Education Collection
Pastors and administrators are asked to publicize the 2018 Catholic Education Collection (CEC) in a significant way the weekend of Sept. 8-9, as well as during the weekend of the collection on Sept. 15-16. Please review several attachments that are part of the CEC promotional kit that may be included in the body of a bulletin or placed as a bulletin insert. A letter from Bishop Lawrence Persico regarding CEC also is attached. Promotional material also may be found at https://www.ErieRCD.org/Catholic-Education-Collection.html. Please use the information to encourage support among parishioners. Half of what is collected remains in parishes to support educational programs.
Pastors already should have received a letter from Father Nick Rouch, vicar for education, along with copies of the 2018 Catholic Education Collection poster that can be displayed at church and/or school entrances.
