Staff at St. Mark Catholic Center in Erie, where many diocesan offices are housed, were invited by the Office for Divine Worship to help create meditations for a unique stations of the cross. The meditations, which each feature a photo of a station from a different parish within the diocese, will be released throughout the season of Lent.

Opening prayer

Lord Jesus Christ,

As your co-workers, we make our Lenten journey together.
Though we often fall into thinking that we know the way
better than our colleagues and even better than you,
we choose to use this holy season to grow closer to you and each other
so we can follow where you lead without reservation.

We love you with our whole heart,
and because we love you,
we repent for when we abandon the gospel of love,
and instead prefer our own ways.

You walked the road to Calvary to die for love of us.
We wish, beloved Redeemer,
to carry the cross with you and for you
in our brothers and sisters — especially those most in need.
Help us to live and die united to you.

Amen
