What is Microsoft Teams?  Microsoft Teams as a collaboration dashboard is a launching pad for working remotely with others. What can you do with Teams?  Teams is a one-stop-shop for accessing tools you and your teammates need to stay on task and up to date. It provides multiple channels of communication and collaboration, including instant messaging or chat, pre-recorded or live video, message board style forums or discussion groups, file-sharing, screen sharing, shared calendar and more!  Who can join my "team":   Anyone with an email address assigned by the diocese can be in a team for sure but guests can also share in some of your team resources.   How many teams can we have?   Unlimited.   How can I learn more?   Call me.   I'll give you access to a test team.

Have you installed Microsoft Office on your home PC?    If your computer already had a demo version of Microsoft Office installed, it could become a problem later.  Press and hold the Windows start button along with the letter "S."  Type Control Panel in the Search box.  Click Control Panel as it appears in the search results.   Select Programs and Features.  In the Search Programs and Features box (upper-right corner), search for the word Office.  If more than one version appears, right-click the version you aren't using and select Uninstall.  The version from the Diocese would be listed as Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus - en-us.

Some iphone users may have difficulty after password changes.   In their infinite wisdom, Apple has removed the password field from the account setup screen.   Affected users may have to delete their work account from their phone and then re-add it.  There is a chance that tapping on the "account error" link at the bottom of the screen MAY allow entry of a new password however this doesn't always work.

I've been working with a lot of parishes lately.   Many are looking for ways to provide Mass - either livestreamed or pre-recorded - to parishioners.     I have also helped many use their parish management software to communicate with parishioners via.  PDS is making free online giving available to parishes who need it.   And, the Diocese is still offering parishes websites for free.   If you speak to parish staff, let them know that I am here to help.

Hackers try to capitalize on COVID-19 fears: Last night over 95 emails were sent to employees with a malicious payload. The subject line read: Anti-Coronavirus Solution by Lifotronic China.  While our mail server successfully defended the attack, hackers are tenacious and will attempt other strategies for delivering their dangerous email. Please be careful with any email our system identifies as from an "external sender".  The alert shown below in red is added to all external email.  When you see this message in an email asking you to click on links or open an attachment, please take some time to investigate the legitimacy of the email.   (Note, the warning is not always in red.  If the sender uses "plain text" the alert can only appear as black text.)
