Today’s gospel calls us to “Be watchful.” Families already practice this: parents watch over their children’s health, grades, and friendships, while children notice their parents’ moods. The gospel invites us to direct that attentiveness toward God’s presence in the innocence, tenderness, love, and forgiveness found within our families. “Be watchful”—the Lord is already with you.
