April 16, 2018

The next Information Bulletin is Monday, April 23, 2018.
Deadline: Thursday, April 19, at 4:30 p.m.

Email your Information Bulletin items to the editor.

The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan organizations such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups.

A notice to pastors, principals and administrators
Up until recently, St. Mark Catholic Center and many other diocesan entities have used Shred-X for confidential record destruction. Shred-X has now become Shred-It, with new ownership, and the cost of shredding has risen dramatically. A survey was emailed to your location on April 9. Please complete and submit it by April 20. Responses to the survey will be used to negotiate discounted, diocesan-wide pricing for those who are interested.

Parish budget preparation
All pastors/administrators and parish business managers will find attached a letter from the Office of Financial Services regarding the 2018-19 parish budget preparation. The priests’ salary scale, effective July 1, 2018, is included in the attachment.

Not too late to register for Families at the Center of Faith

The holy hour will include a Scripture reading and homily by Father Mike Polinek, a silent meditation, the rosary for vocations, and Benediction. The purpose of the event is to ask Jesus to give the gift of courage to young men and women called to be priests, deacons, and consecrated men and women, and for clarity in their discernment process. There will be prayers for holy marriages and for our own personal call to holiness. See the attached flier to distribute where possible.
