2019 National Needs Collection
Pastors and administrators will find attached Bishop Lawrence Persico’s letter introducing the 2019 National Needs Collection. Parishes are asked to publicize this collection in a significant way on the weekend of July 13-14.

Save the date for Day of Reflection
Priests are asked to mark their calendars for the Priests’ Day of Reflection on Oct. 24, 2019, at Cross Creek Resort in Titusville. More information will be available closer to the date.

Final information session for diocesan ‘Treasures of Italy’ pilgrimage
In conjunction with Bishop Lawrence Persico’s required ad limina visit to Rome, the Diocese of Erie is offering a 10-day pilgrimage to Italy Nov. 16-25, 2019. Led by Msgr. Edward Lohse and Father Nicholas Rouch, the trip will include stops in Assisi, Siena and San Giovanni Rotondo — home of St. Padre Pio — as well as Rome. Also on the agenda is a Mass with Bishop Persico at one of the papal basilicas. The final, no-obligation information session will be held Aug. 4 at 2 p.m. at Queen of the World Parish, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys. Beach & Bible get-togethers held at Presque Isle
All are welcome to attend the remainder of St. John/Holy Rosary’s Beach & Bible get-togethers July 2 and July 9 at 6:30 p.m. at Beach One on Presque Isle State Park in Erie. The sessions, which began in June, focus on the Letter of St. Paul to the Colossians. There is no cost for materials. No experience is necessary. Register with Mary Hickin at 814-920-7525.

Celebrate Fourth of July in Lucinda
St. Joseph Parish, 112 Rectory Lane, Lucinda, is celebrating its 80th annual Fourth of July festivities on July 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Chicken and ham dinners plus dessert will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $9 for adults, $4.50 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children under 6. There will be games, live entertainment, bingo and more than $40,000 in cash and prizes. Rain or shine. Proceeds benefit St. Joseph Catholic School. Post-festival activities include the Liberty 5K Run/Walk July 6 at 9 a.m., starting at the Lucinda Train Station, 1040 Lander Drive; and a square dance July 6 at 8 p.m. at the parish hall. 100th anniversary of St. Ann novena
St. Ann Church, 921 East Ave., Erie, will host the 100th anniversary of the annual novena in honor of St. Ann July 18-26. Redemptorist Father Kevin MacDonald, CSsR, will conduct this year's novena. Bishop Lawrence Persico will celebrate a special Mass July 26 (Feasts of St. Ann and St. Joachim) at 7:30 p.m. A reception will follow in the downstairs social hall of St. Ann Church. Director of music and liturgy/elementary music teacher
Immaculate Conception, a Catholic parish of 600-plus families in Clarion, is seeking to fill the full-time position of director of music and liturgy/elementary school music teacher. The parish music and liturgy responsibilities include forming the assembly, cantors and choir in multiple music styles and prayerful worship. Available instruments include a Yamaha baby grand piano and Protégé by Allen Organ.
