Cathedral celebrates anniversary, offers free tours
St. Peter Cathedral, the mother church of the Diocese of Erie, is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. The public is welcome to participate Aug. 4-5 in free tours of the cathedral, located at W. 10th and Sassafras streets in Erie. The tours will be given following the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Aug. 4, and after the 6:30, 8:30 and 11 a.m. Masses on Sunday, Aug. 5. Refreshments will be provided. The people of the diocese are invited to learn about the history of the cathedral, which was designed shortly after the Civil War. For more information, contact Sheila Grove at 814-450-7932.

Purchase tickets now for St. Andrew School reunion
All alumni of St. Andrew School, Erie, and their families are invited to attend the 2018 Grand Reunion Aug. 4 from 3 to 8 p.m. at UPMC Park in Erie. See the attachment for event and ticket details. Tickets must be purchased by July 27 at 5 p.m.
Healing service planned at ‘The Cross on the Hill’
An interdenominational healing service will be held at “The Cross on the Hill,” 2041 Mount Zion Road, Weedville, on July 29 at 3 p.m. Pastor Melissa Smith of the Benezette/Weedville United Methodist churches, and Father Bill Kiel, a retired priest of the Diocese of Greensburg, will preside. Music will be provided by Shalom. All are invited at no cost. Bring a folding chair. In the event of rain, the service will be moved to St. Joseph Church in Force.
Son of God prayer group offers healing Mass
The Son of God prayer group of Holy Rosary Parish in Erie is planning a healing Mass Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 2701 East Ave. Father Johnathan Schmolt will preside. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. to provide time to write petitions that will be prayed for during Mass. Individual prayers will follow the Mass. For more information, call Pat Montefiore at 814-823-3968.
