Advent is the season of waiting. Don’t hurry Christmas. Help your children practice patience this week. Use tools such as the Advent wreath or an Advent calendar to mark the time. Help your children wait by not celebrating before Dec. 25 – at least at home. (We can’t control the rest of the world.) Decorate slowly and in stages. Wait to do the tree. Minimizing time in stores and TV commercials helps. (See Christmas is Dec. 25.)
