Due to the holiday, the submission deadline is due Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 10 a.m.

The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

Jubilee of Hope Closing Mass
On Sunday, Dec. 28, Saint Peter Cathedral, 230 W. 10th St., Erie, will celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family and the Jubilee of Hope Closing Mass. The Closing Mass offers a final moment of celebration and gratitude as the diocese completes its Jubilee journey. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. with Bishop Lawrence Persico presiding. All are welcome to attend.

Office for Divine Worship January newsletter
The Office for Divine Worship presents a monthly newsletter to aid in preparing celebrations that will occur in that particular month. The January newsletter is attached.

International Catholic Stewardship Council January newsletter
The Catholic Foundation is happy to share the attached January edition of the International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter (English and Spanish versions are available). Pastors and parish staff are encouraged to read and share this publication with their parishioners, using all or parts of it for their parish bulletin, with credit to the author/source.

Director of the Office for the Protection of Children and Youth
In January of 2026, the Diocese of Erie will advertise the newly created position of Director of the Office for the Protection of Children and Youth (OPCY). This position will include a combination of some duties currently fulfilled by the coordinator (Cindy Zemcik, who will retire in 2026) and the current director – Fr. Chris Singer. Please share this information with anyone who may be qualified or interested in this position. Please see the attachment for more information.

#iGiveCatholic final results are in!
The Catholic Foundation is pleased to share the final results of #iGiveCatholic 2025: $550,208 raised by 1,701 donors in support of 94 organizations. Organizations that received prizes will be mailed a check from the Foundation by year’s end. Nativity Play
St. Patrick Parish, 949 Liberty St., Franklin, is hosting a Nativity play in Cenedella Hall on Sunday, Jan. 4, at 12 p.m. A pasta lunch will be held after for families and parishioners. Donations only, all proceeds will go to the youth group. Sign up is in the back of the church.

The Gospel Truth: The prophecies of Jesus Christ
Holy Spirit Parish’s Adult Faith Formation team is hosting a discussion and video series, The Gospel Truth: The prophecies of Jesus Christ. Facilitated by Dr. Marianne Konior, learn more about our faith from experts and each other. This will be held from 10:30 a.m. until noon, Jan. 18, Feb. 22, March 15 and April 26 in the library at DuBois Central Catholic, 200 Central Catholic Rd., DuBois.

Candlemas Day
Celebrate Jesus Christ being the Light of the World! St. Francis Xavier Parish, 8880 W. Main St., McKean, is hosting a candle making event on the Epiphany, Jan 6, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost is $30. Life-Giving Wounds Retreat
St. Joseph/Bread of Life Community, 147 W. 24th St., Erie, is hosting a two-day commuter retreat on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 8 a.m.–8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 22, from 8 a.m.–6 p.m. It will be led by Dr. Daniel Meola, Life-Giving Wounds founder and Spiritual Directors Rev. Stephen Schreiber and Rev. Michael Polinek. This is a healing retreat for adult children of divorce or separation and offers a safe, supportive space to begin the healing journey as an adult child of divorce or separation. Early Bird special until Feb. 5. Ages 18-25: $100; ages 26 and up: $125. After Feb. 5, ages 18-25: $125 and 26 and up: $200. Please see attached flyer for more details.
