The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

Church in Latin America Collection
Please see the attached letter from Bishop Persico introducing the Church in Latin America Collection, which will be taken up the weekend of Aug. 15 and 16. Parishes are asked to publicize the collection in a significant way the weekend of Aug. 8 and 9. Promotional resources, including a flyer, bulletin graphic, bulletin announcement, social media graphic and other parish communication materials, are available at https://www.eriercd.org/latinamericacollection.html.

The Office for Divine Worship presents a monthly newsletter to aid in preparing celebrations that will occur in that particular month. The August newsletter is attached.
Scam Alert: Fraudulent Parish Directory Requests
Please be reminded of the parish directory scam. Most recently, individuals have been posing as the Bishop to request copies of parish directories. Because parish directories contain valuable parishioner contact information, please do not provide a directory to anyone without first verifying the request directly with the individual. For more information, please read the attached document.

Vocational Ministry virtual workshop
With support from the Catholic Foundation of Northwestern Pennsylvania’s “Feed My Sheep” grant, St. Francis Xavier Parish, 8880 Main St., McKean, will host a virtual workshop with Vocation Ministry on Thursday, Aug. 20, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Participants will learn how to incorporate vocations into their Faith Formation calendar, receive free resources and practical ideas for program-wide activities, hear success stories about encouraging youth in discernment and more. Because the workshop is virtual, participants may attend at St. Francis Xavier Parish, gather with a small group at another location or join from home or the office. Sisters of St. Joseph Neighborhood Network is hosting the Little Italy Farmers Market, 430 West 19th St., Erie. Every Monday, June 22-Sept. 28, 3-6 p.m., except Labor Day, Sept. 7. Maria House Project Evening of Hope
Maria House Project invites all to An Evening of Hope on Thursday, Aug. 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Parish, 2401 West 38th St., Erie.
Guest speakers include Tim Joncas, executive director of Maria House Project, presenting “The Evil is in the Lie,” and Antonio Howard, an autodidactic artist who was sentenced to life in prison at age 15 and released after more than 26 years, presenting “It’s My Story and I’m Sticking to It.” Light refreshments will be served in the church vestibule after the program. Mercer County Praise and Worship night
St. Bartholomew Parish, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, will host a Mercer County Praise and Worship night on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m. The evening will include Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, praise and worship music, benediction and a light reception. Catholic Disabilities networking meet-up
St. Joseph Bread of Life Parish, 147 W. 24th St., Erie, will host a Catholic Disabilities networking meet-up on Aug. 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. The event offers an opportunity to connect, share experiences and build community in faith. Director of Strategic Planning and Analytics
The Director of Strategic Planning and Analytics provides strategic leadership for the collection, analysis, reporting, and use of data to support the mission and continuous improvement of Catholic education throughout the Diocese of Erie. Working collaboratively with the Superintendent of Catholic Schools, diocesan leadership, principals, and other departments, the Director develops comprehensive data systems that inform decision-making, strengthen school effectiveness, and promote organizational excellence.
This position oversees the catholic schools diocesan information systems, develops executive dashboards and performance reports, analyzes trends in enrollment, student achievement, finances, and school operations, and ensures the accuracy, integrity, and security of diocesan data. The Director also supports accreditation, strategic planning, compliance reporting, and school improvement efforts by providing timely and meaningful data analysis that assists school leaders in making informed decisions. Coordinator of Catholic Identity and Mission (Part-time)
The Diocese of Erie is seeking a faith-filled and mission-driven leader to serve as Coordinator of Catholic Identity & Mission. This part-time role is a key partner to the Superintendent of Catholic Schools and is responsible for strengthening Catholic identity, promoting faith formation and fostering vibrant school communities across the diocesan system. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the spiritual and cultural life of Catholic schools while supporting leaders, educators and students in living out the Gospel.
