Please see the attached flyer for specific training sites near you. All sessions begin at 2:00 pm and conclude at 5:00 pm. Dinner will be provided after each training session. Faith Formation Leaders: enter promotion date for faith formation groups
If you are using Ministry Platform’s auto-promote function to move last year’s students to their new grade group, you should enter a promotion date for your Faith Formation groups. Most leaders will likely edit this field during the summer, setting a promotion date that falls in August. You must satisfy these requirements: the date must be in the future, and every group must be set to the same date. Instructions for using auto-promote can be found here: https://www.eriercd.org/images/AutopromotingGroups.pdf.
July edition of Jubilee Journey: Pilgrims of Hope available now
The July edition of the Jubilee Journey: Pilgrims of Hope newsletter is now available. To recognize the Jubilee Year 2025, this newsletter is suitable for printing in parish bulletins and provides both informative and interactive elements for children and adults. Each edition celebrates the monthly jubilee events recognized by the Vatican and brings readers along for a spiritual pilgrimage. The July edition is attached and the graphics have been added to the parish social media page.
Important update: Name change for CCHD Collection
Bishop Persico has announced a name change for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, or CCHD collection. The CCHD, which is typically taken as a second collection in November, will now be called the Local Needs Collection. This updated name accurately defines the purpose and use of funds. The Local Needs Collection supports diocesan organizations working to address the root causes of poverty and offer vital assistance to those most in need. With this change, we recommend updating your envelopes before placing orders for 2026. Thank you for your continued support and generosity as we move forward together.
International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter
The Catholic Foundation is happy to share the attached July edition of the International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter (English and Spanish versions are available). Pastors and parish staff are encouraged to read and share this publication with their parishioners, using all or parts of it for their parish bulletin, with credit to the author/source.
Staying Safe Online
Invoice scams are getting more sophisticated. A common trick is sending fake receipts for expensive purchases you didn’t make, prompting you to click a link that leads to a phishing site. Some scammers call, pretending to be support agents and ask for your credit card info to “resolve” the issue. Others target organizations like parishes by forging email threads that appear legitimate, tricking accounting teams into paying fake invoices. Watch for subtle red flags – like formal names when you usually go by a nickname – as these can signal a scam. For more information, watch this helpful video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85t8eta7VfM.
