Reboot your router monthly
Rebooting your Wi-Fi router is a highly recommended security practice. Federal agencies, including the NSA, urge consumers to restart their routers regularly to disrupt malware residing in the device's memory. U.S. cybersecurity agencies recently disrupted a network of compromised home and small-office routers used by a Russian military intelligence unit. Rebooting your router can disrupt certain types of malware and clear temporary connections that attackers exploit. How to Reboot Your Router: Unplug your router, wait 60 seconds, plug it back in.
