The deadline for submissions is Thursday, June 22, at 4:30 p.m.

The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

Reintroduction of the Precious Blood at Mass
Please see the attached letter from Bishop Persico, and accompanying instructions on the reintroduction of the Precious Blood at Masses in the Diocese of Erie.

2023 National Needs Collection
Please find attached Bishop Persico’s letter introducing the 2023 National Needs Collection, to be taken the weekend of July 15-16. Parishes are asked to publicize this collection in a significant way on the weekend of July 8-9.

Finance Office reminder to pastors and bookkeepers
Pastors and parish bookkeepers are reminded that with the closing of the fiscal year for parishes on Friday, June 30, all payments for special collections as well as payments for assessments to the diocese are now due. Please contact Jim Hubert, CFO, Jahubert@eriercd.org, with any questions.

Catholic Foundation Offers Catholic Social Ministry Grant Opportunity
The Catholic Foundation of Northwest Pennsylvania is now accepting applications for its Catholic Social Ministry Grant. Applications will be accepted through July 31. Eligibility criteria for this grant have been expanded in 2023. Those eligible to apply for these grants are Catholic 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving people within the 13 counties of the Diocese of Erie, departments of the Diocese of Erie, and parishes. Each organization must have programs supporting family ministries, justice and peace, respect life, parish social ministry, ministry to persons with disabilities, or natural family planning. St. Joseph golf outing
St. Joseph Parish in Force will host its third annual golf outing on July 9 at Bavarian Hills Golf Course, 251 Mulligan Rd, St Marys, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Several prizes are available. World Apostolate of Fatima retreat
The Erie Diocesan Division of the World Apostolate of Fatima will host its 18th annual one-day retreat on July 15 at St. Ann Church, 921 East Ave., Erie. The retreat, led by Fr. Jerry Priscaro and guest speaker Dr. Jaci Philips Sabol, will explore the theme Mary & the Eucharist. The day includes multiple talks, a presentation and Mass. Registration is $15 per individual or $25 per couple. See flier for details.

Educational hike
The St. Hubert’s Committee, an active group of young and old outdoor enthusiasts serving St. Mary Parish in St. Marys with fellowship, events, programs and fundraisers, invites all interested to an upcoming educational hike at Kinzua Bridge on June 25. The group will meet at 12 p.m. in the church parking lot, 315 Church St., St. Marys, prior to driving to Kinzua. The tour starts at 1 p.m. with the Kinzua Bridge guide. Director for the Office of Social Justice and Life
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Erie, Inc. is looking for a director for the Office of Social Justice and Life. The candidate will be responsible for educating and accompanying the people of the Diocese of Erie to respond to the Gospel call to recognize the dignity in all human life, and to be in solidarity with, and in service to the poor, the neglected, the unborn and those living in the margins.
