The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

2025 Catholic Services Appeal Impact Report
The Diocese of Erie has released the 2025 Catholic Services Appeal Impact Report, sharing how the generosity of parishioners continues to strengthen ministries across our 13 counties. Thank you for your ongoing support of the CSA. Parish resources — including bulletin content, website banner graphics and social media materials — are available to help you share the impact and significance of the appeal with your parishioners. The Impact Report is attached for your review.

International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter
The Catholic Foundation is happy to share the attached March edition of the International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter (English and Spanish versions are available). Pastors and parish staff are encouraged to read and share this publication with their parishioners, using all or parts of it for their parish bulletin, with credit to the author/source.

Diocese of Erie announces E-news schedule change
The Diocese of Erie has updated its diocesan e-news schedule to better share timely stories, ministry updates and important announcements from across our faith community. Beginning March 4, a regular Diocese of EriE-News edition will be sent on the first Wednesday of each month, with additional special editions delivered as needed to coincide with major liturgical seasons, diocesan initiatives and celebrations throughout the year. Catholic Sisters Week 2026 - "Stories of Hope and Heart"
Each year, March 8–14, the church in the United States observes Catholic Sisters Week. The 2026 theme for 2026 is “Stories of Hope and Heart.” This year, parishioners are invited to share a brief story reflecting how a sister has impacted their life. Stories may be submitted at: www.eriecatholicsisters.org.

Parishes are encouraged to celebrate this week in a significant way. Materials have been created to assist in local promotion and participation. Parish bulletin graphics, a printable prayer card and additional resources are available on the parish resource page at www.eriercd.org/ParishPlaceGraphics.html. A social media campaign can also be found on our website: www.eriercd.org/csw-socialmedia.html. Please see the letter attached from Bishop Persico to share with your pastor.

Help us share Easter Mass times
As we prepare to celebrate the joy of Easter, the Diocese of Erie is gathering Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Mass times to be shared on the diocesan website. If your parish is hosting Easter services, please send times and location to RPapalia@ErieRCD.org. Thank you for ensuring that all who seek to celebrate the Resurrection of Christ can find a place to worship.

We love seeing how families are engaging with Faith magazine, especially our youngest readers! Is your child working on the crossword puzzle? Reading Faith with a parent or grandparent? Healing Mass
St. Joseph Parish/Bread of Life Community, 147 W. 24th St., Erie, in collaboration with Faith on Fire, will host a Healing Mass on Tuesday, March 10. You are not alone community prayer event
A community gathering to pray for immigrants, migrants and refugees will be held on Friday, March 13, from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Participants are invited to gather at the Erie Federal Courthouse, 17 S. Park Row, Erie. See the attached flyer for additional details.

Parish Mission: Cruising the Caribbean to Calvary
St. Joseph Bread of Life Parish, 147 W. 24th St., Erie, will host Cruising the Caribbean to Calvary on March 16 through 18 at 6:30 p.m. each evening. Mission presenter will be Deacon Tony Alleruzzo. This free Lenten mission invites participants to deepen their faith and renew their spirit through engaging talks and meaningful prayer experiences. A Lenten Reflection worship music concert
On Sunday, March 15, St. Joseph Parish, 600 Pennsylvania Ave W., Warren, will host an afternoon of Lenten Worship music by Anna Lehnortt, Joseph Thompson and Nathaniel Licht, of Titusville. Music begins at 3:30 p.m. The concert is free but a good will offering will be taken. See flyer for more details.

Taize Adoration at St. George Parish
St. George Parish, 5145 Peach St., Erie, will host Taizé Adoration on Sunday, March 29, at 7 p.m. in the church. Music will be provided by Daniel and Emily Cabanillas, and the service will be led by Father Brandon Feikles. Taizé Adoration features meditative, short, repetitive chants, Scripture readings, silence and prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. See the attached flyer for additional details.

Father Pete’s Maria House Project Bingo Bash
The Maria House Project will host a Bingo Bash on Sunday, March 29, at the JPTF Events Center, 2319 W. 38th St., Erie. Tickets are $35 at the door or $30 in advance online and include all regular games and a jackpot. The event will also feature a basket raffle, 50/50, instant games and more. Cathedral Preparatory School presents Les Misérables
Cathedral Preparatory School, 250 W. 10th St., Erie, will present the school edition of Les Misérables, the world’s longest-running musical and a modern classic based on the novel by Victor Hugo. Performances will be held in the H. David Bowes Auditorium on Thursday, March 26; Friday, March 27; and Saturday, March 28, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 29, at 2 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door (cash only): $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for students.

Catholic Charities of Erie Bingo night
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Erie will host Bingo Night on Friday, April 10, at the JPTF Events Center, 2319 W. 38th St., Erie. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with bingo beginning at 7 p.m.

The evening will feature designer purses, electronics and cash prizes, with proceeds benefiting Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Erie. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. St. Mark Seminary annual Card Party
The St. Mark Seminary Auxiliary will hold its annual Card Party on Thursday, April 30th at 6 p.m. in the St. Mark’s Gym at 429 East Grandview Blvd, Erie. Doors will open at 5 p.m. Admission is $15.00. A light meal will be served. Evening includes grand prizes, a gift auction, money tree and more. This is our only fundraising event to support our seminarians. For reservations, please text or call Erin at 814-440-5885 by Friday, April 17th.

Palm Sunday Discernment Weekend
Is God calling you to be a priest? Are you interested in learning more about the priesthood? The seminary? Discernment? The Palm Sunday Discernment Weekend, March 28-29, 2026, is for any young man, junior in high school and older, interested in learning more about priesthood, seminary life, and vocations. Spend time at St. Mark Seminary and meet the seminarians, pray with other men who are seeking to know God’s call for them, and learn more about how God is calling you personally for a special vocation. There is no cost to attend the weekend. Young men from dioceses other than the Diocese of Erie, such as Altoona-Johnstown, Buffalo, Greensburg, Rochester, etc. should contact the vocation director from their home diocese before applying. Mercyhurst Prep Rowing Boosters Bingo
MPS Rowing Boosters will host Bingo on Saturday, March 21, at the JPTF Events Center, 2309 W. 38th St., Erie. Doors open at noon, with bingo beginning at 1 p.m. Admission is $30 and includes 10 bingo games. Additional games, a 50/50 and raffle prizes will also be available. Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages and snacks. Tickets may be purchased from members of the rowing team or at the door. Proceeds benefit the MPS Rowing Team and help ensure that rowing and related travel opportunities remain accessible to all participants.




Administrative Assistant to the Office of Diocesan and International Missions
The Administrative Assistant to the Office of Diocesan and International Missions is a part-time (20 hours per week) position in service to the work of the Mission Office. Among many other duties, the Mission Office of the Diocese of Erie supports the Mission of Friendship outreach in Yucatan, Mexico, organizes the annual Missionary Cooperative Program in the parishes of the Diocese of Erie and fosters support for the Pontifical Mission Societies and general mission education throughout the Diocese of Erie.

Director of the Office for the Protection of Children and Youth
The Diocese of Erie is a collaborative, mission-oriented organization which prioritizes teamwork. This full-time, confidential, director-level, position will include managing child protection clearances for clergy, employees, and volunteers of the Diocese of Erie, parishes, schools and other Catholic institutions. This person is to be a practicing Catholic who possesses excellent organizational and human skills. Additionally, the director will progressively update the diocesan Policy for the Protection of Children based on changing state and federal law, as well as evolving circumstances. This position also will manage compliance of the policy for all diocesan institutions and continue outreach to past victims. Because of the sensitive and confidential nature of this position, the successful candidate must demonstrate discretion and integrity in handling protected information. Essential skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (especially Word and Excel) as well as familiarity with operating database software.
