Staying safe online: Impersonation scams are on the rise
Fake job scams are now the third most common scam worldwide, and the same techniques are used to target employees at work. Scammers may pose as recruiters, vendors, executives, or IT staff—even using deepfake voices or video that sound slightly “off.” They often build trust over time before asking for sensitive information such as IDs, banking details, passwords, or one?time verification codes. Any request that feels rushed, unusually generous, or confidential is a red flag—pause and verify through a known, trusted channel. Here is a one-hour webinar on spotting scams: https://youtu.be/QY8s1iKKiQA?si=oib2M9FTk-j7WbkW.
