November edition of Jubilee Journey: Pilgrims of Hope available now
The November edition of the Jubilee Journey: Pilgrims of Hope newsletter is now available. To recognize the Jubilee Year 2025, this newsletter—suitable for printing in parish bulletins or in faith formation classes—provides both informative and interactive elements for children and adults. Each edition celebrates the monthly jubilee events recognized by the Vatican and brings readers along for a spiritual pilgrimage. The November edition is attached, and previous editions can be found at https://www.eriercd.org/holyyear2025.html.

International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter

The Catholic Foundation is happy to share the attached November edition of the International Catholic Stewardship Council newsletter (English and Spanish versions are available). Pastors and parish staff are encouraged to read and share this publication with their parishioners, using all or parts of it for their parish bulletin, with credit to the author/source.

Attention Windows 11 users Some Windows 11 versions are quietly retiring
Microsoft is at it again! While the end of support for Windows 10 came with flashing lights and countdowns, Microsoft has taken a quieter approach with the retirement of Windows 11 version 23H2. If you blinked, you might’ve missed it — but support ends this November 11th. The attached handout outlines what this means for your parish systems and how to upgrade to stay secure and supported.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Mass times are needed
Advent begins Sunday, November 30, 2025. To help parishioners plan ahead, the Office of Communications & Advancement is collecting Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Mass times to feature on a dedicated page of the diocesan website. Please submit the following by Friday, December 5:

  1. Parish name
  2. Parish town
  3. Parish contact person
  4. Parish contact person email
  5. Parish contact person phone
  6. Christmas Eve Mass times
  7. Christmas Day Mass time(s)

The page on our website will launch on Monday, Dec. 8. Note: For convenience, copy and paste the above categories and provide your information in an email to Rich Papalia, webmaster, at rpapalia@ErieRCD.org.

End-of-year giving statements:
We encourage all parishes to help members print their own end-of-year giving statements. Parishioners can access their giving history through the Diocese of Erie website using the Ministry Platform portal or by adding a free widget that connects your parish website to the same system. These self-service statements are secure, easy to use, and help reduce printing and mailing costs for parish staff.

If you prefer to link directly to the diocese portal, use: www.eriercd.org/portal.html. For help installing the portal on your parish website, contact Kathy Papalia at it@eriercd.org or call 814-824-1184.

Parishioners, employees: Be cautious about sharing personal information
Scammers are impersonating pastors and parish staff, asking for gift cards or personal information. These messages are fraudulent and are affecting churches nationwide. Always verify unusual requests by calling your parish directly—use only the official phone number listed on the parish website or in the bulletin. The Diocese of Erie, its clergy and parishes will never request personal or financial information unless you initiate contact. Report gift card scams to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Learn more at consumer.ftc.gov/articles/avoiding-and-reporting-gift-card-scams.

Diocesan parishes to host Man of the Shroud Exhibit
Thanks to the generosity of the National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe at Marytown and the support of the Catholic Foundation of Northwestern Pennsylvania, several parishes across the diocese will host the “Man of the Shroud Exhibit.” The display features a replica of the renowned Shroud of Turin—often called the “Resurrection Shroud.”

Presented during November, the month dedicated to remembering the deceased, the exhibit offers a message of hope in the promise of our own resurrection and serves as a meaningful way to celebrate the Jubilee Year of Hope. The exhibit will be hosted at St. Boniface Parish in Kersey, Immaculate Conception Parish in Clarion, St. Francis Xavier Parish in McKean and St. Peter Cathedral in Erie. Please see the attached flyer for dates and parish-specific details. Information for Immaculate Conception Parish will be shared once finalized.
