The deadline for submissions is Thursday, Nov. 10, at 4:30 p.m.

The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

Eucharist: Food for the Journey
As part of the Eucharistic Revival, the five united Catholic churches of the DuBois area will host a family evening on the Eucharist with prayer, learning and fellowship on Nov. 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Msgr. Ed Lohse will be the guest speaker on the topic of the Eucharist and welcoming. This event takes place at St. Bernard Church, 205 Taylor Ave., Falls Creek. The evening includes Eucharistic adoration, the sacrament of reconciliation, Msgr. Lohse’s reflection, a light meal and activities for children. All are welcome.  

Annual feather party scheduled Nov. 19
The 62nd Annual Our Lady of Mount Carmel Feather Party will be held on Nov. 19 at Scheffner Hall, 1531 East Grandview Blvd., Erie. The event will run from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Doors open immediately following the 4:15 p.m. Mass. Admission is free. The evening will feature free refreshments, tips, instants, bottle raffles, a wine booth, fruit basket raffles and the opportunity to win your Thanksgiving turkey. The evening will conclude with a cash raffle with three prizes awarded: $1500, $250 and $100. Thanksgiving food drive
The Knights of Columbus of St. Jude Parish are holding their annual Thanksgiving food drive on Nov. 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 2801 W. 6th St., Erie. The food drive benefits families in need of a Thanksgiving meal. Frozen turkeys, non-perishable food donations and all financial donations are being accepted. See flier for details.

Christmas garage sale at Our Lady of Peace
The Boy Scouts, sponsored by Our Lady of Peace in Erie, is hosting a Christmas garage sale on Dec. 3 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Dec. 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace School cafeteria, 2401 W. 38th St., Erie. Donations of Christmas decorations can be dropped off on Nov. 21 and Nov. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. Proceeds from the sale will benefit OLP Troop 59's activities. Advent centering prayer retreat
The Bethany Retreat Center in Frenchville is hosting an Advent retreat on Dec. 2-4 for those interested in deepening the transforming love of God in the midst of silence and solitude. The event will be held at the Bethany Retreat Center, 1031 Germania Rd., Frenchville. The weekend will include centering prayer, conferences with contemplative dialogue, meals and Sunday liturgy. Christmas basket raffle to benefit Benedictine ministries
The St. Benedict Academy alumnae board will host a Christmas basket raffle on Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Polish Falcons, 431 E. Third St., Erie. Seventy themed baskets will be offered, along with other games of chance. Suggested donation for the basket raffle is $10 for 25 tickets. Need not be present to win. Winnings can be delivered. Proceeds benefit the St. Benedict Child Development Center, inner-city ministries of the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, scholarships and alumnae board ministries. Open to the public.

Clothing distribution party
The Community Outreach Group will host its annual clothing distribution party on Dec. 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Center, 453 West 16th Street, Erie. In addition to receiving free clothing, patrons can enjoy a free hot lunch. Santa and some of his special helpers will be on site to distribute toys to the children. See flier for additional details. Annual Christmas market
The Holy Trinity Parish education program is hosting its annual Christmas market on Dec. 16 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Dec. 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Social Center, 650 E. 23rd St., Erie. Orders will be taken from Nov. 5 to Dec. 5. See attached flier and order form for details.
