PARISHIONERS ACROSS DIOCESE TAKE PART IN DAY OF PRAYER

09/18/2018

Maybe they prayed for healing, for themselves or for others.
Maybe they prayed for priests and religious leaders.
Maybe they prayed for their faith to be strengthened or restored.
The prayers, personal and private, came from the pews of churches large and small, urban and rural.
Parishioners throughout the 13-county Diocese of Erie took part in the Day of Prayer on Saturday, Sept. 15, a day Bishop Lawrence Persico set aside for anyone to visit churches and make a personal, prayerful response to the sexual abuse crisis in the Catholic Church. All churches throughout the diocese, even those not normally open, were open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The day coincided with the memorial of Our Mother of Sorrows.
