Grades 7 & 8 – Teen Disciples - An adaptable, engaging 2-year junior high ministry program (Updated June 2019)
This updated diocesan junior high program offers a way of centering the curriculum around a variety of engaging experiences which encompass Community, Worship and Service. Rather than providing specific calendar dates, above are suggestions for specific times of the year to offer activities. This model of ministry is designed to:
• Offer youth ministry to all of our youth
• Involve more adults and senior high peer ministers in the program
• Enable neighboring parishes to share resources and build community with one another
• Involve youth in models of learning and living that can make the faith “stick” in youth’s minds and hearts
Materials for Grades 7 & 8 are designated “Year A” and “Year B”. They can be used by either grade level. A student who misses Year A can begin with Year B then study Year A the following year. If the religious education program is small and 7th grade and 8th grade are combined, the combined group can work on Year A one year and Year B the next year.
