The Diocese of Erie Information Bulletin advertises and promotes activities and events sponsored by diocesan entities such as parishes, schools, religious communities and groups. The IB is unable to advertise or promote activities or events not sponsored by such entities. Submissions may run a maximum of two editions. The administrative offices of the diocese reserve the right to edit submissions.

Liturgy reminder
Because St. Patrick is the patron of the Diocese of Erie, his liturgical celebration on March 17 ranks as a feast everywhere in the diocese. In parish churches that bear his name, the rank would be that of solemnity. Please see the attached Mass Formulary for these celebrations.

St. Andrew Dinner
Any young man interested in learning more about the priesthood or learning how to follow Jesus' call in his life is invited to attend a St. Andrew Dinner on March 23 from 6 to 8 p.m., at St. Francis Xavier Parish Center, 8880 W. Main St., McKean. A light dinner will be served, followed by a talk by Bishop Lawrence Persico and vocation stories shared by some diocesan priests. Eucharistic Adoration will conclude the evening. High school students invited to apply for Kentucky Mission trip, 50th anniversary
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the diocesan Kentucky Mission trip. All high school students from throughout the Diocese of Erie are invited to apply for the trip, scheduled for June 11-17. If interested, email Father Mike DeMartinis at mike.demartinis@prep-villa.com.

REEF Grant opportunity
The second quarter REEF grant cycle deadline is April 1, 2022. Apply today for funding for your parish. The Religious Education Enrichment Fund (REEF) of the Diocese of Erie has three types of funding opportunities available for individuals, parishes, schools and other diocesan-affiliated entities: 1) Leadership Training for professional education and training; 2) Creative Project for religious formation start-up projects; and 3) Ministry Training for conferences, workshops and non-degree certificate courses. Catholic Rural Ministry offers spring events
Attached is the spring program schedule for Catholic Rural Ministry in the Bradford area.  Consider attending a series of spiritual opportunities this spring offered by religious sisters in the Diocese of Erie.

Soup, Salad and Soul offered at St. George Church
The Soup, Salad and Soul Lenten Program — featuring Mass, a light meal and talks/discussion led by diocesan priests — will be held at St. George Church, 5145 Peach St., Erie, on the remaining dates: March 15 (Msgr. Edward Lohse), March 22 (Father John Malthaner), March 29 (Father Christopher Singer), and April 5 (Father Rich Toohey). Mass begins at 5:15 p.m., followed by a meal and discussion in the school cafeteria beginning at 6 p.m. Reservations are appreciated by emailing Deacon Bob Ball at bball@stgeorgeerie.org.

Blessed Carlo Acutis exhibit offered at St. George Church
St. George Church in Erie is sharing a sampling of panels from Blessed Carlo Acutis’ The Eucharistic Miracles of the World exhibit through Lent. The exhibit will remain on display through Lent in the main church, located at 5145 Peach St. Known as the Cyber Apostle of the Eucharist, Blessed Carlo Acutis cataloged hundreds of eucharistic miracles before his death at a young age. The exhibit at St. George highlights 24 of the panels. The church is open after 8 a.m. Mass through 3 p.m. Monday through Friday (except for Tuesdays from 1 to 2 p.m. for the school Mass) and on Saturdays after the 8 a.m. Mass and before the 4:30 p.m. vigil Mass. McKean parish presents eight-part mental health course
All are invited to St. Francis Xavier Parish, 8880 Main St., McKean, for the Sanctuary Course for Catholics, an eight-part series designed to raise awareness and start conversations in local parishes regarding mental health. Meet in the gathering space on the west side of the church on Saturdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on April 2, May 7, June 4, July 9, Aug. 6, Sept. 10, Oct. 1, and Nov. 5. Housekeeper needed
St. Teresa of Avila Church in Union City is in need of a part-time housekeeper to perform cleaning and laundry services at the parish rectory and office.
