Respect Life Month 2026 Parish Resources
The Diocese of Erie Office of Social Justice and Life and the Office of Communications & Advancement have created the following resources to help parishes observe and promote Respect Life Month throughout October 2026.This year’s diocesan materials reflect on Mary, Mother of Life, inviting the faithful to look to Mary’s witness as a model of welcoming, cherishing and protecting human life. Resources also highlight Walking with Moms in Need and the call to accompany pregnant and parenting mothers with compassion, encouragement and practical support.

Respect Life Sunday
Respect Life Sunday is October 4, 2026. Parishes are encouraged to use the provided materials to help introduce Respect Life Month and invite parishioners to pray for and uphold the dignity of every human life from conception to natural death.
Walking with Moms in Need
Walking with Moms in Need is a parish-based initiative that helps ensure pregnant and parenting mothers facing difficult circumstances can turn to the Catholic Church for support, friendship and connections to local resources.
Parishes interested in beginning Walking with Moms in Need can receive training and support through the Diocese of Erie Office of Social Justice and Life.
Respect Life Month Novena
The faithful are invited to participate in the Respect Life Month Novena, October 22-30, using the Hallow app or Respect Life resources provided by the USCCB.
